To coincide with spring, Prince Albert Open Gardens end September was a jam-packed weekend filled with all things natural, organic, green, and inspiring. Besides the gardens, a host of talks, walks, and workshops enlightened and enthralled.

We love feel good days in Prince Albert and, following on from above, thank you once again to all our Prince Albert Open Gardens visitors, your ticket purchases ensured we could donate R4000 to Wolwekraal Nature Reserve and R2000 to Prince Albert Skills School, thank you for your wonderful support.

In its 162 years of existence, the award-winning Prince Albert Public Library has seen a good number of books placed into the arms of eager readers.
Besides being a bookworm’s paradise, the library also houses the town of Prince Albert’s 250 year celebratory quilt which is worth a visit in its own right.
Members constantly stroll in and out, always leaving satisfied with a new stash of literary adventures. If a desired book isn’t in the stacks, our librarians rise immediately to the challenge, searching the databases of all WC libraries or even further afield, and hey presto! it is couriered to Prince Albert within days.
Become a member at no charge to satisfy your reading mojo, or just come for a quiet sanctuary on the main road to read or do computer work.

A perfect October Karoo morning in beautiful Prince Albert saw in the start of the third Prince George 100 Miler. Thank you to all the cyclists and cheerers for supporting our beautiful town, hope you had a fantastic experience, see you next year.

The pilot Craft and Design Academy Pop Up was hosted at the Karoo Souk in Prince Albert end October and our young students were eager to absorb and learn new skills through experimentation with ancient techniques, new materials, and disruptive approaches.
Forming part of the Milasande Organisation, professional designers from as far afield as Sweden and local artisans facilitated creative workshops and mental health awareness sessions over two weeks, growing and guiding students to excel in their chosen artforms of either woodwork or weaving.
The aim of the project has been to ignite interest among young people in peri-urban communities by demonstrating the vast possibilities and opportunities within the design and craft sectors with the hope that unemployed youth and aspiring creative entrepreneurs are empowered with essential crafting and design techniques.
Die Ou Stal on the R407 about 22kms out of Prince Albert town towards Klaarstroom is a place to vertoef, find a little pre-loved collectable, pat a horse, and have a slow coffee or tea or cordial along with a delicious muffin or cupcake.
On Wednesdays and Saturdays, you’ll see a sign on the road on your right for the pop-up Barn. Watch the birds, sit and reflect or read, take away (at no charge!) your own container with pure mountain water.
