Molly House

Welcome to Stay at Molly, an exquisite and lovingly restored original homestead in the heart of the beautiful Karoo town of Prince Albert in the Western Cape, South Africa. The facade of the house boasts Victorian Lace ironwork above the front stoep and on the front gate with the signature Karoo diamond-shaped window looking across towards the mountains from the front of the house.

In summer when the weather is cooking hot Molly offers an abundance of shade and spots to relax in the sunshine, as well as air-conditioning, ceiling fans and mosquito nets above the beds. For winter “Molly” has a wood burner, hot water bottles and stand-up heaters if you need!

As soon as you walk into Molly you will be wowed by the sumptuous chandeliers, four poster bed in the master bedroom and double shower, his and hers basins, ample cupboard space and a Victorian bath in the en suite bathroom. A twin bedroom on the other side of the hallway is equally beautifully fitted out with another en suite bathroom.

The heart of the house is the huge kitchen, dining room, lounge area with a separate scullery kitted out with a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge and sink area. The kitchen dining section of the room has a table that seats up to 10 people, a large butcher’s block style island and is packed with gorgeous Wonki Ware crockery, coffee machine, cafetiere, microwave and all the cooking equipment  you could wish for. The living room section has stylish comfy sofas and a 60 inch flat screen TV with Netflix etc and opens onto the garden from all sides with light-catching red and blue stain glass doors.

Since the weather in Prince Albert is almost always fantastic (even in winter) you can guarantee being able to either sit on the front “stoep” drinking your morning tea or coffee or braaing and indulging in the splendour of the entertaining area at the back later in the day. Your doggies are welcome to come with you to Molly.

Molly house can accommodate four people and if you would like a fifth person to stay there is an extra charge of R700 a night.  Extra notice is needed to find a temporary bed!

Our home offers free private parking and comes with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, bed linen and towels.

Molly also has Molly Cottage at the back of the property, a completely separate and private cottage that can accommodate a further two people. Molly Cottage can be rented along with the main house if you have a group of six people wanting to stay, or it can be simply rented for two separate guests independently.

Molly Cottage 

The Cottage can accommodate up to 2 guests in 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. The bedroom is furnished with a double bed and the bathroom is fitted with a shower, washbasin and toilet. Linen and towels are provided.

Molly Cottage has its own outdoor seating area, outdoor shower and washing line at the back of the property. It does not yet have its own braai area. Watch this space! The cottage has a spacious and exceptionally well-kitted out kitchen including a cooker, large fridge, washing machine and thoughtful, tasteful cooking equipment and crockery. The large diamond shaped window in the kitchen looks onto the garden and is a gorgeous feature framing this Karoo-style abode. The sizeable bedroom living area has antique furniture, a large TV, sofa and easy chair, wood burner, air conditioning and atmospheric lighting. The double doors open onto the most magical bit of the garden. There is also a separate walk through room with a desk, loads of storage and a beautifully designed bathroom with a stone tiled shower!

Both the house and cottage have Wi-Fi, TV, linen, towels, washing and drying facilities and superbly appointed kitchen utensils and crockery.
